Learning Outside the Classroom
At QEHS, we believe that some of the most powerful learning happens beyond the four walls of a classroom. We are incredibly proud of the range of opportunities we offer beyond the classroom, which enhance and enrich our curriculum.
Learning outside the classroom brings subjects to life, sparks curiosity and helps students to make real world connections. These experiences promote a deeper understanding of the world, build confidence and help develop essential skills such as teamwork, problem-solving and resilience. By engaging with different communities, cultures and environments, our students gain a broader worldview and a deeper appreciation of diversity. These rich, hands-on experiences support the development of the whole person, academically, socially and emotionally, helping them become confident, curious and compassionate individuals ready to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Learning outside the classroom also plays a vital role in promoting students’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development. Through real-life experiences and meaningful encounters, our students grow in empathy, responsibility and self-awareness. These opportunities also help to reinforce British values ensuring that our students are well-prepared to be thoughtful, active citizens in modern Britain.
