Sixth Form Team
Our Sixth Form Team is committed to providing high-quality support, guidance and leadership to ensure every student reaches their full potential — academically, personally, and beyond.
Here's who’s here to help:

Mrs Walsh
Assistant Headteacher (Sixth Form)
Mrs Walsh provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Sixth Form, ensuring every student has a high-quality post-16 experience. She supports students’ academic progress, personal development, and overall wellbeing, helping them thrive both inside and outside the classroom. She leads on UCAS and apprenticeship guidance, oversees the Personal Development program, and works closely with staff, students, and families to maintain the highest standards of teaching, learning, and pastoral care.
Mrs Coupland
Deputy Head of Sixth Form / Head of Year 12 & 13
Mrs Coupland provides direct pastoral leadership and academic monitoring for students in both Year 12 and Year 13. She supports students’ wellbeing, helps them navigate the transition into Sixth Form, and ensures they are on track with their studies, progression goals, and personal development. She monitors engagement, supports students in maintaining expected attendance, and ensures they are fully participating in all aspects of Sixth Form life. She also leads the Sixth Form tutor team, working closely with staff and students to address any challenges, promote positive routines, and maintain high standards of personal responsibility. Whether it’s academic support, wellbeing concerns, future planning, or attendance guidance, Mrs Coupland is a central point of contact for students and parents alike.

Mrs Clarke
Sixth Form Pastoral and Progress Officer
We understand that the transition from GCSE to A Level can be challenging, and that A Levels require dedication and hard work. Mrs Clarke provides additional support and guidance to help students reach their full potential. She works closely with students on a range of academic and pastoral needs, including managing workload, building resilience, balancing wellbeing with study, and navigating social or personal challenges. Students who need extra support work closely with Mrs Clarke, who helps them develop the skills, strategies and confidence to succeed at QEHS.
In addition to her pastoral work, Mrs Clarke is part of the safeguarding team as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), ensuring that all students feel safe, supported, and able to thrive during their Sixth Form experience. She is a key point of contact for both students and parents, supporting them in overcoming challenges, staying on track, and making the most of their time at QEHS.
Sixth Form Tutors
The excellent level of pastoral care provided in Years 7-11 at QEHS is continued into the Sixth Form. Students will be allocated a personal tutor and all tutor groups are also members of the school House system. Form tutors are the first port of call for all students and parents, and the relationship between tutors and students is one of the foundations on which our successful Sixth Form is built.
Tutors will:
- Provide daily support, both academic and emotional
- Monitor tutee attendance
- Deliver a high quality personalised tutor programme
- Support tutees in their post 18 destination application
- Provide your reference for application to university, apprenticeship or employment.

Mrs Housham
Sixth Form Officer
Mrs Housham offers vital day-to-day operational support for the Sixth Form. She manages key administration such as attendance, timetables, events and communications, and is often the first point of contact for student queries. Mrs Housham plays an essential role in ensuring the smooth running of the Sixth Form and is always available to assist students and families with practical matters.
Together, our team works in close partnership to create a supportive, ambitious environment where every student is known, valued and encouraged to succeed.
Specialist Support in the Sixth Form
At QEHS Sixth Form, we are proud to offer tailored support to help students thrive academically and prepare for life beyond school. Our specialist staff provide expert guidance in key areas of Sixth Form life:

Mrs Griffin
Oxbridge and EPQ Lead
Our Oxbridge and EPQ Lead provides targeted support for students aspiring to apply to the Universities of Oxford or Cambridge, as well as other highly competitive courses and institutions. Mrs Griffin guides students through every stage of the process, from super-curricular enrichment and personal statement writing to interview preparation. Mrs Griffin also leads the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) programme, helping students develop independent research skills and academic writing through a qualification that is highly valued by universities.

Mrs Sacker
Work Experience Coordinator
Mrs Sacker helps students identify, apply for, and reflect on valuable work placements that support their future ambitions. Whether it’s gaining insight into a particular industry or building practical skills for employment or further study, students receive personalised advice and support to find meaningful opportunities and make the most of their experience.

Mrs Brown
Study Support Officer
Mrs Brown plays a key role in helping students manage the academic demands of Sixth Form by providing a quiet and structured environment for supervised study. She ensures that students have a focused space to complete their work, develop effective study habits, and manage their time efficiently. This support is particularly valuable for students balancing multiple commitments or those who benefit from a calm, dedicated environment in which to consolidate learning and reach their full potential.
Together, these specialist staff work alongside the wider Sixth Form team to ensure that every student receives the personalised support they need to succeed, both now and in the future.
