Individual student sporting achievements (2024-2025)

  • Scott F (Y13) won the Northern Schools Golf National Competition (QEHS school won, and Scott as an individual won).
  • Scott F (Y13) came third in the National Schools Golf Competition (3rd overall in the country).
  • Scott F (Y13) has earned a sports scholarship in American from September 2025 to play golf for three years.
  • Henry G (Y7) & Abigail F (Y7) both competed at the Anglian Cross Country Championships in February 2025 (furthest any of our students have got for over five years- furthest ever for any QEHS Y7 student).
  • Iris H (Y11) – Selected to be part of the England Netball U17 Squad for the European Netball event.
  • Charlie R (Y9) – Gold medal in the National Triple Jump (National age champion both indoor and outdoor TJ).
  • Charlie R (Y9) – Qualified to represent Lincolnshire at English Schools National Championships later this summer in Triple Jump.
  • Cheryl N (Y7) – U13 Girls Northern Athletics Championships silver medallist (200m) and bronze medallist (60m).
  • Cheryl N (Y7) – U13 Girls South Yorkshire Champion (both track and field multi events).
  • Stansie C (Y9) – Nottinghamshire County Championships – 100m Fly County Champion, 50m Fly and Backstroke Silver medallist, 400m Individual Medley Bronze medallist.
  • Elyse H (Y9) – Qualified for National Swimming Championships in a host of strokes and distances (over 8 different distances and a mix of strokes).
  • Niamh J (Y9) – Competed at English Gymnastics National Championships in March 2025 (in the age category 1 year older than her current age).
  • Connie V (Y9) – Signed with Hull City FC Ladies.
  • Phoebe B (Y8) – Nottinghamshire County Athletics U15 Girls Shot Put Champion (age category 2 years older than her age).

Awarded the Youth Sport Trust Gold Quality Mark 2023- 2024 and the National School Games Gold Award for 2023 - 2024

Notable Highlights:

Department Awards

  • Youth Sport Trust Gold Quality Mark
  • Applied for (and fully expect to be awarded) a fifth successive gold school games mark, allowing us to apply for platinum next academic year.
  • Continue to be a pioneer for student leadership as a Youth Sport Trust (YST) Lead Leadership, Coaching and Volunteering (LCV) School.
  • Over 800 attendances at PE extra-curricular activities since January
  • 180 Year 9 Sport Leaders set to achieve their Level 1 Sport Leaders Qualification.
  • Award for ‘Your Time’ Leadership Programme

Netball

  • Year 7 girls netball league winners
  • Year 10 girls netball league winners

Football

  • Year 8 boys football league third place
  • Year 9 boys football league runners up
  • Year 11 boys league winners

Girls Football

  • Year 7 girls County cup finalists (final to be played Sept 2024)
  • Year 8 girls county cup semi finalists (lost on penalties)
  • Year 10 girls local indoor football tournament winners
  • Year 7 & 8 girls EFL County football tournament champions
  • Year 7 & 8 girls EFL regional football tournament bronze medallists 

Badminton

  • Year 10 boys league runners up
  • Year 10 girls league runners up

Handball

  • Year 9/10 girls County winners
  • Year 9/10 girls regional bronze medallists (missed out on nationals via a penalty shoot out)

Equestrian

  • Elsie B goes to Hickstead National Championships as the Lincs County Novice Dressage Champion.
  • Combined Dressage - QEHS qualified to compete at the National Winter Championships in October via a 1, 2 and 6 place finish.
  • Competed at the NSEA National Championships in May after qualifying for both dressage and eventing, with Scarlett placing 6 in a very large class.

Golf (first ever time entered this year)

  • Under 18’s team national final qualification (schools competition) - winning the school team round.
  • Scott F competed at the Schools National Championships representing QEHS.

Rounders

  • Year 7 district rounders finalists
  • Year 8 district rounders champions
  • Year 9 district rounders finalists

Cricket

  • U14’s County Cup Cricket semi finalists

Awarded the Association of Physical Education Quality Mark 2022 - 2025

Notable Highlights:

  • Students clearly demonstrate positive behaviours and attitudes towards physical education, through the development of leadership opportunities for students across the year groups
  • A focus on personal development with a clear learning journey for physical education supported by detailed and well-resourced schemes of learning, resulting in high levels of engagement by students across both curricular and extra curicular activities.
  • Effective implementation of provision through high quality teaching, learning and assessment
  • Strong leadership within the department which is highly valued by the wider school community.
